Product Description
The GA-30 features a pitch reference tone and quinta-flat tuning. The GA-30 tuner packs basic functionality and convenient tuning functions into ultra-compact bodies. This dedicated guitar/bass tuner lets you select either Guitar mode or Bass mode for truly easy operation with automatically detected pitch. A high-sensitivity mic is built-in, allowing easy and accurate tuning of acoustic guitars. The GA-30 can accurately tune any guitar or bass. The back of the unit includes a unique arc-shaped tilt slit that lets you insert a plastic card for use as a handy stand. Additional visual feedback is provided by LEDs that indicate pitch deviation. In addition to visual tuning via meter, the GA-30 can play reference pitches from its internal speaker (Sound Out) for tuning by ear. The GA-30's Quinta Flat Tuning mode supports the lowered tunings used in heavy metal styles to give more weight to the sound. Until now, dedicated guitar tuners have supported a maximum of only four semitones below standard pitch, but the GA-30 gives you five steps of flatted tuning, extending as far as five semitones below standard pitch, and supporting even super-long scale guitars that are five frets longer than conventional guitars. Built-in Speaker Tuning modes - Meter (auto guitar/bass) and Sound (auto guitar/bass) Flat tuning - 1 - 5 semitones Quinta Flat Tuning accuracy - +/-1 cent Sound accuracy - +/-1.5 cent Connection jack - Input jack (1/4 mono) Power supply - Two AAA batteries 3V Battery life - Approximately 100 hours Dimensions - 4.1 x 2.52 x 0.6 (104x64x15mm) Weight - 2.86 ounces (81grams) including batteries

5 out of 5 stars Easy to Use   December 28, 2008
Rachel D. Woodward (Plano, Tx. USA)
The Korg Guitar tuner is simple to use. If you know the basic notes on the 6 strings, you can match up each string to the corret pitch. Also, the directions are easy to understand. I would definetly recommend this product.

4 out of 5 stars Easy to use   October 29, 2008

I am a beginning guitarist and I bought this to help me learn how to tune the guitar. It is fairly simple to use. just pluck the string and it'll tell you if its off or not. Good product overall. There are no doubt better ones for a higher price.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great   October 28, 2008
D. Hogenmiller (Palmyra,WI)
At first it would not recognize the A string, but I got it changed and now it works great. I've got lots of brothers and sisters who like to mess around with my guitar so this comes in handy. I have my guitar tuned in minutes.

2 out of 5 stars Ehhhhhhh, don't last   October 19, 2008

This was the first tuner I bought when I started playing about 7 years ago. It worked great at first, but then after a short while it became extremely unreliable. The needle would act like it was possessed and switch inbetween notes, say I'm tuning e string to e...I would be at e flat and it'd jump to g something. Completely rediculous.

GOOD WHILE IT LASTS, get a pedal tuner. Heavy duty, great to use during gigs

5 out of 5 stars The gold standard   September 13, 2008

This is one of the beast guitar tuners out there. And you can't bet this online price. You'll spend 30 bucks on this if you go to a music store. Great product for a great price
