Delivery Troubles July 30, 2010 Sima I like the magazine but i am facing troubles with the delivery system, so far i didnt receive July 2010 issue!
does the network justice July 18, 2010 ComfortFirst (North Mississippi) I thought this would be just a knock off of the shows, but it is really well put together. Lovely to look @ and a great source of inspiration and information.
QUICK SHIPPING!!! July 5, 2010 Heather A. Souza (Montana) For the record -- this review is based off two different thing, content of the magazine, and shipping.
1) Anyone that loves the food network will LOVE this magazine. It was great articles, great recipes, and tons of great information.
2)This magazine, like most magazines, really revolve around the time frame the issue comes out. During holidays and those seasons, great party ideas, great recipes to fit all sizes and budgets. Includes quick timed recipes, full on suggested menu's (appetizers, side dishes, main courses, dessert) all based around the time frame it comes out (whats in season, different seasons themed food, ie: soups for winter, salads for spring, etc).
3)SO MANY DIFFERENT CONTRIBUTORS! Just like the channel, the magazine offers a wide variety of food and ideas. Southern cooking, french cuisine, ethnic cuisine, and different twists on traditional dishes.
4)Geared for everyone. There are easy recipes, more difficult recipes, and different articles to educate you on different aspects of food and ingredients. Plus a section where they give a weeks worth of dishes, and include a grocery list to shop for it.
Overall -- as i stated before, if you love the food network, you'll love this magazine. I've given this subscription as a gift to my mother-in-law and to my sister. They have both loved it a raved about it (I always seem to know when their issue has arrived from an excited phone about a recipe they are going to, or already tried out...). Probably will give it to my mother as a gift too.
Shipping & Price:
When I have the gift to my mother in law, we went to some random website and ordered it -- the price wasn't outrageous...but I'd say about $30 for about a year...
I went through amazon for my sisters subscription. I believe I ordered it in April, and the anticipated delivery date was June/July...which I was bummed about -- but understood that subscriptions take 6-8 weeks, and that seemed about the timeframe. However, my sister received her first magazine in about a month! And the price here at Amazon was WAY cheaper then any other means that I have looked into. So the price, and the quick shipping was awesome. Great great buy
Could be more July 4, 2010 D. Kay (Ohio) I like this magazine, but really disappointed that there are not more articles on different cooking techniques. I wish it would give more cooking advise and less highlighting of chef's home kitchens.
Recipe fan July 3, 2010 Tx girl I have been very pleased with the Food Network Magazine thus far. Tons of recipes that are easy to follow!
