The albums have been remastered at Abbey Road Studios in London utilizing state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The packaging is nice, the product itself is even better, and thanks to Amazon I got free super-saver shipping. The sound quality of these CDs is great, and the artwork and inserts that accompany each album are very well done. The mini-documentary disc is nothing special, but that's not the reason anyone's buying this collection anyway. If you're a Beatles fan who's on the fence about buying this collection, buy it. You won't be disappointed. I was hesitant to repurchase a few of the CDs I had already owned (in the 1987 CD format), but was glad to hear significant improvements in the newly remastered versions. To put it simply, this is the way the Beatles were meant to be heard. If you love The Beatles, you will love this box set.
