4 out of 5 stars Summer Addiction   August 22, 2010

Your Love Is My Drug (Kesha) / B0030IG70Q

I was recommended this song on GrooveShark, I think purely on the strength of my recent obsession with Lady GaGa, and was pleasantly hooked. This is a good summer addiction song, and puts me in mind of some of the fun candy pop songs that first made Britney Spears.

Like all Amazon MP3 downloads, this MP3 is DRM-free and plays beautifully, without fuss on my MP3 player.

5 out of 5 stars Ke$ha's classic   August 16, 2010

"Your Love is my Drug" is a rarity from newly minted pop diva Ke$ha. It's actually a good song. She brings together in a hieros gamos (sacred union) the elements of Cyndi Lauper's trash chic, is a slightly trailer park version of Lady GaGa, and has an addiction to auto-tune like Britney Spears. Ke$ha has compared song writing to solving math equations... and it makes sense. Song writing is not her forte. But she has self-reliance unlike Spears, and she claims she's not as blasphemous as Lady GaGa (or by extension, Madonna herself)

"Your Love is My Drug" has an addictive beat. The chorus is catchy. While it's about an unhealthy relationship, it's got a rhythm to it. Ke$ha even sounds like she can actually sing. It's the opening song on her Animal album, and sad to say, it goes downhill fast from this song, in keeping with Newtonian physics. "Your Love is My Drug" is the legal addiction of this summer!

5 out of 5 stars Pop candy you can't avoid   July 3, 2010

Of course this song plays on every radio every 5 minutes, you can't avoid it. Why not own it so you can play it every 2 minutes! I bought it for a nice summer poppy song mix.

2 out of 5 stars Not Hooked   June 25, 2010

When it has came down to pop music right now, it has definitely gone to be pretty bland lately for so many younger female acts. With lackluster songs from Katy Perry, Rihanna and now with Ke$ha, there just hasn't been a lot to really go around. Ke$ha's latest single, Your Love Is My Drug isn't really anything different from what has been shown by the poor stamina of Blah, Blah, Blah. I really wasn't at all very impressed nor driven into the song. I Think she needs to fine tune her own signature sound, and make the next single something to say her love can be better than her drug.
